Dec. 12, 2022

The 3rd International DANUrB+ Conference and closing event is coming soon in Budapest! Save the date, we will see you all on December 12th, 2022!

DANUrB+ (Danube Urban Brand+) is an international project that aims to connect the communities along the Danube River and strengthen already existing ones. The project goal is to facilitate local collaborations and create useful developments and events that build on cultural traditions and values.

The conference will mainly focus on the evaluation of DANUrB+ results retrospectively and the future of Danube in a practical, theoretical framework. European opinion leaders and change agents considering the Danube region will also share their insights on the topic.

The event will be dedicated to show a wider audience how cultural cohesion can be created in the Danube region through the involvement of local communities, the revalorization of built, natural and cultural heritage and the development of sustainable tourism and regional branding.

We will start the program with the presentation of “DANUrB+ Highlights”, where you will learn about the best practical solution on building a cultural promenade along the Danube river. It will be followed by a more visionary session - “DANUrB Perspectives” - with inspirational speeches by international professionals from all around the EU and two roundtable discussions. In the evening you will have the opportunity to watch the premiere of the fascinating “Eyes of the Danube” documentary film, which will be preceded by a press conference.

During the day you will be able to meet the DANUrB+ partnership and external stakeholders, network and learn about good practices represented in the Danube region.

But what is DANUrB+?

DANUrB+ (Danube Urban Brand+) is an international project that aims to connect the communities along the Danube River and strengthen already existing ones. The project goal is to facilitate local collaborations and create useful developments and events that build on cultural traditions and values. The DANUrB+ project was launched on 1st July 2020 to foster resilient use of cultural heritage and resources of the peripheral and border regions along the Danube. DANUrB+ aims to reactivate underused cultural heritage and resources in shrinking settlements of Danube river’s peripheral and border regions, to create new possibilities to make its towns and regions attractive again. The DANUrB+ partnership consists of 17 ERDF and 2 IPA consortium partners and 23 associated strategic partners from 6 countries. 10 consortium partners were already part of the DANUrB project including the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (HU) acting again as lead partner.
