The KÉK + mentoring program is a community program organized around the themes of the built environment, visual culture and contemporary city, for young people who are interested and want to get involved in these topics. The mentors and invited speakers are the professional program leaders and curators of KÉK.
In 2019, the participants of the program were selected on the basis of an open call. Not only architectural students can apply, but anyone who is interested in the current problems and suggestions of contemporary architecture and the city. The selected team of 20 people worked together in 5 groups during the year, which took the form of two weeks of intensive workshops and separate consultations. The teams were given various tasks with the help of mentors, where in each case the goal was not only to achieve theoretical knowledge but also practical implementation and gaining experience. In addition to mentoring KÉK professionals, the young professionals were able to work together in interdisciplinary project teams on a problem affecting sustainable cities throughout the year. We introduced young graduates to the most innovative practices and techniques, so that our professional partners can also get in direct contact with a highly motivated target group.
