Bálint Balázs

He studied architecture at Budapest University of Technology and Ecomomics (BME) and received his master degree in 2017. He has been working for private architecture studios as a designer and project manager since then. From 2012 he has been involved in several activities of Hungarian Contemporary Architecture Centre (KÉK): he is the leader of Pecha Kucha Night Budapest presentation event and Trust your Architect! roundtable conference series, but he had helped to carry out an exhibition and conference series about the Korean contemporary architecture in Hungary. His main interests are focused on the distressed areas of the urban environment and the effect of globalization on cities. Since graduation he has been a member of Urban Future Lab at the Department of Urban Planning and Design at BME, where he conducts a research project on Hungarian shrinking cities. From 2020 he is a student of the Doctoral School of Psychology at Eötvös Loránd University. In his research, he examines what factors influence each social group in the choice of their place of residence, which results indirectly contribute to the description of socio-psychological well-being.
